I never thought that hosting this show would get me recognized. I figured here and there someone might have heard about the show, but not like this.

I mean, I knew that we would be emceeing events and posting our pictures on MySpace (which, btw, I am SO OVER, we had SO MANY friends then our account got deleted), but I never knew the magnitude. I mostly get recognized by my peers in the gay Hollywood community, and it is mostly because when I do a red carpet everyone asks “where’s Rico” (that bitch never comes).

More recently I have been getting recognized at shows. I understand being recognized at WIcked Los Angeles because of our unofficial affiliation, but I didn’t know that when I went to New York I would be asked to take photos with people! It is SO WEIRD (and highly recommended).

I mean, on last week’s show with Idina Menzel, someone in our chat room commented that it was so cool that Rico and I were in there chatting with everyone. I was like…I AM you! I am the biggest fan ever! This leads me to a whole new subject: Broadway and theatre in general.

I have our fans to thank for really pushing us in the theatre direction. In the beginning, I had Shoshana Bean on our show quite a while ago due to the fact that I LOVE WICKED. That show really changed the scope of our show. We started getting many requests for other theatre actors, and one by one, started fulfilling those wish lists.

Some of our previous Broadway guests include Lea Salonga, Eden Espinosa, Megan Hilty, Kristy Cates, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tracie Thoms, David Burnham, Jenna Leigh Green, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Deborah Gibson, Marty Thomas, and in a couple of weeks, by popular demand, Orfeh.

I feel very lucky and want to thank everyone for bringing me all of the wonderful suggestions (keep them coming)! We are fortunate to be invited to almost every show now and we will continue to bring you all the details! For now, you can listen to all of our previous broadcasts on FRUITSALADSHOW.COM, iTunes, and on BlogTalkradio.com.

I will be in New York on RENT’s final weekend, September 5. Come and freaking say HI and for f’s sake, buy me a drink.

End Scene.
